About the Role
We’re hiring a Consultant who will play a key role in developing economic development strategic plans and enhancing client competitiveness through targeted marketing and communications strategies. This individual must bring strong writing, creative thinking and project management skills, along with the confidence and polish to present ideas and findings in both virtual and in-person settings. The ideal candidate is a proactive self-starter who contributes new ideas with professionalism and thrives in a collaborative, fast-paced consulting environment.
Core Responsibilities
- Lead or support the development of economic development strategic plans for community, utility and state-level clients.
- Develop and implement marketing and communications strategies that enhance client positioning and competitiveness.
- Deliver presentations and facilitate meetings virtually and in person, often with senior-level stakeholders.
- Identify, research and analyze labor, demographic and economic data to inform recommendations.
- Write proposals, reports and client-facing deliverables.
- Support new business development through proposal writing and concept development.
- Manage multiple projects, timelines and deliverables with strong accountability.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree required
- Excellent public speaking and presentation skills, both virtual and in person
- Strong writing and verbal communication skills
- Strategic thinker with the ability to turn insight into action
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a client-facing environment
- Experience managing deadlines across multiple projects
- Knowledge of economic development, workforce development, or marketing a plus
- Previous experience in consulting or agency work preferred
- Willingness to travel 1–2 times per month to support client engagements
