Space Perspective

SITUATION: Space Perspective is the world’s first and only carbon-neutral spaceflight experience company on a mission to make transformative space travel accessible. To build the world’s first manufacturing facility designed to routinely construct human-flight space balloons, Space Perspective engaged VisionFirst as its strategic partner to assist with location advisory services for its worldwide campus and manufacturing complex.

SOLUTION: During the engagement, VisionFirst assisted Space Perspective with evaluating potential locations throughout the Southeastern United States. VisionFirst worked with state and local economic development partners during the evaluation process to identify and negotiate incentives for the company’s expansion. This work included reviewing incentives, options for manufacturing building financing, potential tax liabilities, permitting assistance and other inducements to support the projects. As a result of these evaluations, Space Perspective selected Florida’s Space Coast Spaceport in Titusville, Florida, as its new location.

SUCCESS: VisionFirst successfully negotiated incentives with Space Florida and Florida’s Space Coast Economic Development Commission for this project, including land leases, infrastructure grants and property tax abatements. These incentives are based on Space Perspective’s commitment of $38 million in capital investment and the creation of 240 full-time jobs. Space Perspective officially opened its new facility near Kennedy Space Center in August 2023. With plans to take passengers into space in 2024, the company is poised to make transformative space travel accessible to a broader audience.
