VisionFirst Advisors is welcoming Sally Williams to its team as a Senior Consultant. Williams has worked in economic development for nearly two decades and brings expertise in marketing and communications, industrial site development, business incentives and program management. Her background will complement VisionFirst’s work in economic development strategy, marketing and communications, research and community benchmarking.

“Sally brings a unique combination of marketing and communications, business incentives and industrial site development experience that will add tremendous value to our clients,” said Gray Swoope, President and CEO of VisionFirst Advisors. “She has worked with companies considering new locations and with communities working to recruit investment, giving her a perspective that fits naturally with the work we do at VisionFirst.”

As a Senior Consultant, Williams will support VisionFirst’s strategy and creative work, helping clients identify and understand their unique value propositions and develop strategies to effectively market and communicate those values effectively.

“I have been privileged to witness the impact VisionFirst Advisors is having on communities and organizations throughout the Southeast and the value it brings to its corporate clients,” said Williams. “I am delighted to join such an accomplished team and look forward to helping our clients strengthen their strategies, communicate their competitive advantages and position themselves for long-term growth.”

Williams comes to VisionFirst from the Mississippi Development Authority (MDA), Mississippi’s lead economic and community development agency. She began her tenure at MDA in disaster recovery before joining the agency’s marketing and communications group, where she served as public relations manager. Most recently, Williams worked in MDA’s business incentives group, supporting the state’s recruitment efforts, communicating Mississippi’s tax and incentive advantages and providing technical assistance to prospective businesses on tax structure and incentives. She also managed several statutory tax incentive programs and served as the agency’s subject matter expert on industrial site development, overseeing the $183.5 million grant program designed to help communities develop industrial sites and accelerate the availability of high-quality sites across the state. Based in Jackson, Mississippi, Williams holds a bachelor’s degree in history from Davidson College.
